Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

My friend's husband owns a BBQ restaurant. Imagine my self-induced pressure when I decided to host dinner club at my house (six couples) earlier this year and without thinking I decided it should be a BBQ. Yep, stupid, stupid, stupid, on so many levels. I searched and searched for a pulled pork recipe that could compete with the food that he cooks every day. I found success with this recipe. The meat was devoured and now I make it about every six weeks.

You guessed it -- pulled pork was on the menu tonight. I highly recommend this recipe. It won't disappoint!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
1 pork tenderloin
1 can or bottle of root beer
1 bottle your favorite
BBQ sauce
Buns

Place the pork in a slow cooker and pour the root beer over the meat. Cover and cook on high for 6 hours or until the pork shreds easily. Drain Well. Stir in BBQ sauce. Serve over hamburger buns.

Slow Cooker Sour Cream Pork Chops

I had some pork chops in the freezer and decided to add them in to my menu this week. I took some truth serum and I have to tell you that every time I have had pork chops, I ruin them. They are absolutely horrible. My husband has forbidden me to make them -- yes, they are that bad. I don't know what I do wrong -- they are just dry and gross.

I wasn't ready to give up on pork chops for life. I know that I can conquer them -- I just have to figure out what I am doing wrong. I still haven't unlock the secret, but I decided that my slow cooker hasn't let me down yet. I found a recipe on allrecipes. I had a volunteer committee meeting tonight so I didn't try them, but my husband said they were good. Yipee, redemption.

Sour Cream Pork Chops

6 pork chops
salt and pepper to taste
garlic powder to taste
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 large onion, sliced 1/4 inch thick
2 cubes chicken bouillon
2 cups boiling water
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream

Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, and then dredge in 1/2 cup flour. In a skillet over medium heat, lightly brown chops in a small amount of oil.
Place chops in slow cooker, and top with onion slices. Dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water and pour over chops. Cover, and cook on Low 7 to 8 hours.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees F (95 degrees C). After the chops have cooked, transfer chops to the oven to keep warm. Be careful, the chops are so tender they will fall apart. In a small bowl, blend 2 tablespoons flour with the sour cream; mix into meat juices. Turn slow cooker to High for 15 to 30 minutes, or until sauce is slightly thickened. Serve sauce over pork chops over egg noddles.

All Day Pot Roast

My husband is a meat and potatoes guy, much to my chagrin. That means that I have to make a dinner that fits that criteria in order to keep him happy while I try out new recipes. I decided tonight was the perfect night for a pot roast. I had a lot to do and this recipe allowed me to only be in the kitchen for a total of 10 minutes. What's not to like about that! Let me know if anyone tries out this family favorite. I hope ya'll like it as much as we do...and did I mention I make it in the crock pot?

Crock Pot Pot Roast

2 pounds pot roast
1 can condensed Cream of Mushroom soup
1 pouch of Dry Onion Soup Mix
1 cup of water
3-4 potatoes
3-4 carrots

Brown the roast on all sides in 2 tablespoons of hot oil. Mix the soup, dry soup mix and water in the crock pot. Add the roast on top. Cook for 6 - 8 hours.

About three - four hours prior to serving, quarter the potatoes and cut the carrots. Place into the crock pot. Eat when the meat is tender.

Crock Pot BowTie Pasta

I am a big crock pot fan. I love mine and I love walking in to my house knowing that dinner is almost ready. I ran across this recipe a few months ago, but for the life of me, I don't remember where I found it. So, please accept my apologies for poaching this recipe from another site.

This was quite yummy and has officially received the nod from my hubby. I was actually going to have this later in the week but I ended up working from home and decided to move it up in the rotation. I also made some cheddar bay biscuits that were scrumptious. Have I mentioned how much I love to cook when I don't have to stress about what I am going to make?

Crock Pot Bow tie Chicken

2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 8oz. pkg cream cheese
1 c. sour cream
1 pkg ranch dressing mix
3 T Parmesan cheese
2 c. chicken bouillon water
1 1/2 T. Italian seasoning
1 T minced garlic
Chicken (I used three breasts and cut into bite size pieces.)

Put all of this is the crock pot and cook for 6 - 8 hours. Yep, it's that simple. Serve over bow tie pasta. Enjoy!
