This month I sent a few dozen SnickerDoodles. I hope our troops overseas love 'em cause I know that my little boy sure did. In fact, he devoured them. So, you know what that means...I'll be making them again in the future.
I am gonna let ya'll in on a little secret. Before Saturday, I had never had a SnickerDoodle. Crazy, huh? My first batch was a little dry, but batches two and three were delish. I borrowed my recipe from a blog -- no surprise there.
Snickerdoodles
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine 1 1/2 cups white sugar, butter, vanilla and eggs. Mix well.
Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Blend well. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Combine 3 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. Roll dough in sugar/cinnamon mixture and place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from cookie sheets
Thanks, Dinner on a Dime, for a new family favorite.
